Why Nobody Is Reading Your Marketing Content

Almost every week I'm telling a client that there's a big problem with their marketing content.

It's not the subject matter, their writing style, their grammar, or even typos.

The problem is that their content is simply hard to read because of the way it's formatted.

Def: Format: "the way in which something is arranged or set out."

I've seen web pages with wonderful content that is simply unreadable because of poor formatting.

You've taken all that time to write a blog post or service description and nobody is reading it.

You, the writer, probably don't even notice, because you're too close to it; you have no objectivity.

The good news is that fixing readability is easy-peasy.

And once you understand the mistakes you're making, you'll never make them again.

Here are seven formatting mistakes that make it hard for readers to read your content.

I'm going to concentrate on the formatting of content on web pages and blogs as these are where we read most online marketing content.

1. Text that is too small.

This is the number one text formatting error. If someone has to squint to read your text, you're in trouble.

And did you know that more than 50% of people now browse the web on mobile devices? This makes small text even harder to read.

These days, with web pages moving to WordPress, page widths are wider than ever, so small text gets lost in the vast expanse of your screen.

How big should your text be? My recommendation is no smaller than 16px, however 20px is becoming more common. Bigger IS better.

2. Text that is too light.

I blame designers for this. Lighter text looks cool. I don't know why, but it just does.

And even worse is text that's both small and light!

But after you've made that cool impression on your website, can anyone read your text?

No, they can't!

Your poor readers! They can't read what you've written.

How dark should your text be? I recommend no lighter than 85% black. This will make your text a tad lighter, and less stark (hence, more cool) than 100% black.

3. Text that is too wide on the page

Now that you have a big, wide page to write on, why not format your text from edge-to-edge!

Please don't.

Adding wide text blocks to already small, light text and you have a major reading catastrophe.

Instead, you want some white space to narrow the text blocks on the page.

On a site such as Medium.com (which gets millions of readers) the font size is 21px and the margins of each side of the text take up about 50% of the screen real estate.

Another way to narrow your text block is to have a narrower left or right margin and then on the opposite side have a wider margin with graphic content or side-menus.

You'll see this on my blog pages.

I recommend that your main text block take no more than 60% of your screen's width.

4. Paragraphs that are too long

Long paragraphs are just as problematic as small, light or wide text. Huge paragraphs are simply hard to read online.

A web page is not read like a book. And the same paragraph rules don't apply.

It's OK to have short paragraphs.

Even one-sentence paragraphs.

Get it?

I recommend that paragraphs be no deeper than five lines. If you put just one key idea into each paragraph, readership will soar.

5. Poor font choice

This one is trickier as there are a zillion fonts available these days.

I generally suggest a very readable serif font such a "Georgia" or a sans-serif font such as "Open Sans."

But be careful about mixing fonts. You don't want your website to look like a ransom note.

It's common to use a bold serif or sans-serif font for headings, and then the opposite for body content.

This is where a designer can come in handy and help give a unified, professional look to your web pages.

6. Failure to use bolding

This is my secret weapon to increase readability. You don't see this enough online.

If your text is all black/gray text with no variation, there is no focal point to draw the eye.

Here's what happens:

A reader comes to your page and sees nothing but monochromatic text. Nothing attracts the eye.

The subconscious mind says, "Where's the good stuff? Do I have to wade through all of that text to find it? Shoot, that's too hard, let me go someplace else!"

But if you bold first sentences (sometimes initial clauses), the eye is attracted and there's an immediate payoff.

The reader is focused and understands what you're content is about in an instant and is encouraged to keep reading.

If you have lots of bolding throughout your text, then the reader can quickly scan for meaning. And even if they don't read your whole page, they'll get the general gist.

One mistake to avoid with bolding: You should almost never bold words or sentences in the middle of a paragraph. That just makes it harder to read.

If you want to add emphasis in the middle of a paragraph, use italics instead.

7. Not using sub-heads

Another great way to increase readability is to break up pages with sub-heads.

This is simply text in a larger font, often colored and/or bold text, as I've done in this article.

Subheads serve to organize the most important sections of your content.

Again, all of this increases readability which is what you want when a visitor comes to your website, right?

Cheers, Robert

Using Social Media Creatively to Tell Your Story

When it comes to marketing for your business, telling your story (even if it is one of many) is critical to your success in business. You must always have a story to tell and not only is how you tell the story important but where you tell your story is often just as important when it comes to achieving the desired results.

Why your story is so important

You may not be sure why telling your story is such a necessity when it comes to writing content and marketing that content for your business. Well, your story is absolutely critical to your brand's and your business' success because it is how you are able to connect with the other person as two human beings and it is also how you demonstrate who you are and the values that you hold dear.

When it comes to sharing your story, your chosen social media channels are a wonderful vehicle to do just that and to do it extremely successfully. Here is how you go about accomplishing that.

Tell your story on Facebook:

Your Facebook fans enjoy a good story very much. If your story is well written and compelling, your fans will have no problem reading your posts all the way to the end. That all depends on how you present the information. With Facebook, you have the opportunity to tell a really beautiful story and you can tell that story as elaborately or as succinctly as you wish. It just depends on your writing style and on your target audience members. If you feel that you have a lot to share with your fans, you may want to choose to write a longer post. Just remember to keep it compelling and engaging. If you do that, other people will want to read your story and they will want to keep on reading other stories that you share in the future.

Tell your story with images:

In many cases, a picture is worth a thousand words. Using images to tell your story is a wonderfully creative way to grab the attention of your target audience members. If you have experienced an event that you would like to share with other people online, images will probably work extremely well. You can post the photo album and it can be shared in its entirety subsequently many times and in many places. That will also make it easy for other people to share your story with other people whom they know (if they feel that your story is worth sharing). Your album should encompass the whole experience, including other people who attended who you fee had some significance, as well as any other photos (or other images) that were also worth sharing in your opinion.

Tell your story with a video:

Videos can be an extremely effective way to tell your story. Just as is the case with the written word, a video can be shorter or it can be longer. Don't be afraid to tell your story at length, if you feel that what you have to say will be of interest to other people. Of course, if you don't have a lot to say, there is no point in just dragging out your video just to take up minutes. Make sure that the amount of time that you take to tell your story is the most appropriate amount of time for what you have to say.

Tell your story using storyboards:

Another way to share your story is with a combination of words and images. It can be a very effective way to tell your story because it will appeal to many different people. Some people react more positively to the written word and others react more positively to images because they are visual people. The storyboard luckily satisfies both types of people.
Tell your story with a combination of original and curated content: You can take some concepts from curated content and combine those with your own story and experiences. It is a creative and effective way to tell your story and other people will be able to relate to what you are saying.

Conclusion

Telling your story is essential for your brand and for your business and using your chosen social media channels to tell your story is an intelligent, effective way to do just that. It helps you to establish a solid connection with your readers. The reality is that each and every time that you post content, you are sharing a story with your intended target audience. You are involved with social media on a regular basis for your business anyway so you may as well take full advantage of all that it has to offer you.

How Can I Do Online Advertising?

Many online businesses start out on a limited spending budget and think they can't manage to pay for advertising. The good news is that there are now many more options to start online advertising than even just a few years ago. Even better, there isn't a sharp learning curve to be able to use them and get a good return on your investment.

Paid ads do cost money, but they're scalable, so when you produce an effective ad, you can increase your spending to show your ads even more, for more traffic and profits.

PPC Networks

PPC stands for Pay Per Click. As the name implies, you only pay if someone clicks on your ad. There main two PPC networks.

Google AdWords

This is the most well-known network. It shows ads on its own search engine results pages and on a range of other sites. Some of the sites are owned by ordinary people who want to make money from their website, so they join the Google AdSense program. The system is challenging to use, however. It's so full-featured, there are courses online to teach you how to use the system.

Bing

Bing, by Microsoft, amalgamated with Yahoo PPC ads a number of years ago in an attempt to compete with Google. Although you might not get as much traffic from Bing as you do from Google, the Bing ad program tends to be less expensive and simpler to use.

Social Media

There are a number of social media sites you can use for online advertising as. Their ad programs are highly targeted, and they're easier to use than Google. The ads are driven more by matching your ads with the interest people have stated or shown through their likes and content they engage with.

Facebook

Facebook ads offer some hard rivalry to Google AdWords because their online advertising rates are less expensive, the system is much easier to use, and the website traffic can be much more highly targeted. You can get the same amount of traffic for pennies on the dollar in comparison with Google once you learn their fairly straightforward system. You need to have a Facebook business page to run ads. And all your ads will have to have an image.

Ad Marketplaces

There are also ad areas like BuySellAds or Chitika where you can connect with various sites who take advertising. The objective here would be to find a substantial website that matches the niche or industry you are working in so you can get "qualified traffic," that is, people most likely to be interested in what you have to sell.

Facebook wants you to succeed using their advertising platform. This just makes sense. If you achieve your business goals while spending money on Facebook advertising, you're likely to use that marketing practice again in the future. When Email Marketing Becomes Spam

In some ways, we can consider email revolutionary. It even predates the internet's ancestor, the ARPANET. In 1965, the first version of email was found in computers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a program dubbed "MAILBOX". In a little over ten years, people saw the potential of marketing in email, but because such method was non-existent at this point, Gary Thuerk ended up pioneering the first spam message when he sent the same email to 400 people in 1978.

Today, we know there's a clear distinction between spam and email marketing. But usually when people think of spam, the first thing that comes to mind are messages that tell you one million dollars is waiting for you and all you have to do is click the button. By this standard, almost everyone is able to identify what messages are considered spam.

Since nobody falls for that anymore, spam senders have gotten more cultured with their techniques. And sometimes, this means even your techniques can get lost in the strategies of spam. So if you're constructing your own email marketing campaign strategy, here are a few pointers for you to distinguish legitimate email marketing from spam.

Spam is sent with no permission, email marketing asks

If you'll notice, legitimate campaigns begin with an opt-in form on websites. As entrepreneurs, you have to respect your customers enough to let them decide if they want to receive weekly updates from you via email.

Spam messages are intrusive, and there's almost never a way for you to opt-out of their mailing list. But one takeaway from spam is that they offer their readers something (not real but it's the thought that counts). Mention what you can offer to your readers, like a free trial or free PDF, to let them know what they can get from subscribing to your emails.

Spam enters deceptive subject lines, email marketing sends specific ones

Spam messages usually promise something big in their subject lines. But even legitimate email marketers get carried away with using subject lines such as "Your invitation from us" or "Your gift is waiting". Studies show, the click-through rate of emails with deceptive subject lines is next to zero. Why even bother?

Everyone knows this tactic, too. Admit it; you'd never open an email that says, "your gift is waiting for you".

At this point, one of the best methods to get users to open your emails is to use open loops, or incomplete ideas. For example, you could use "The one thing I wish I learned from college is... " to make recipients want to find out more.

Spam makes it impossible for users to opt-out of mailing lists, email marketing honors opt-outs

As email marketers, you should make it a point to give your recipients choices to opt out of getting your emails. Along with this, not only does good email marketing allow users to opt out, they present clear and concise explanations on how users can opt out. Make sure to give your recipients a return email address, too.

It's worth noting that some email marketers still act intrusively, still sending certain types of emails to people who have already opted out. You must honor recipients requesting to opt out of all commercial messages. Remember, at its core, spam is a bulk of unsolicited messages.

When you follow guidelines on email marketing and respect your customers, you know your campaign can and will succeed. It all boils down to your strategy. With the help of some experts on email campaign management, your company can deliver the best email campaign without bordering on spam.

Is Email Marketing Still Relevant?

The recent introduction of the general data protection regulation (GDPR) has had a direct impact on marketing practices, including email marketing. Is email marketing still one of the most effective marketing tools for your business?

The answer is yes, email marketing is still one of the most effective tools for driving sales in your business, but as with most forms of marketing, it rarely stands still.

Ensure You're Compliant

Personal privacy is a major concern today when it comes to email marketing. So is the way you use the data you collect. Read over your current privacy policy and terms of service for your website to ensure you are up to date.

Mobile-Friendly Emails

Your email should be readable on any device that your subscriber decides to read it on. You can check out how your emails and website look on free tools such as mobiletest.me and responsinator.com to view your content on a range of simulated screens.

Email Rendering

There's a similar problem with the way emails appear in different email services. Check the overall look of your emails at Yahoo! mail, Gmail, Hotmail etc to be sure it doesn't look wrong.

Coding Issues

Some marketers prefer HTML coded emails, while others opt for plain text. Any HTML coding mistakes could ruin the look and feel of the email, or even prevent some or all of it from being seen. Check your code at a site like Dirty Markup and clean any errors.

Check and Test

Be sure to carefully check any email before you send it. Look for typing errors and ensure that the link clicks through to the correct page. Make sure that things like the date and time of an event are correct. People are very busy and don't have time for you to send two or three emails on the same subject, trying to correct basic errors you should have found in the first place.

Send High-Quality Information, Not Just Sales Info

Be certain all your emails are relevant and interesting to your target audience. Do more than just try to sell them stuff, and odds are they will continue being on your list, look forward to your emails and open them, and even forward the emails to other people.

Make It Easy For People To Unsubscribe

If your subscriber makes a decision that they don't want to get any more emails from you, make it possible for them to easily unsubscribe. If you make it difficult, they will start to begrudge your emails and will certainly never buy from you. They may also report you as spam, which will cause you complications in the future.

Email marketing can achieve awesome results for the smart marketer. On average, a prospect needs to see your messages 7 to 8 times before they trust you enough to buy something. Email is the perfect way to deliver these messages with a structured marketing funnel. To learn more, download my free Marketing Funnel Checklist at https://jonallo.com/salesfunnel

6 Tips For Bloggers To Leverage Digital Marketing

Digital Marketing is not a new concept now. Still, a lot of companies and experts lack the actual understanding of the subject. There are still many dark areas to explore for many. Actually, every blogger also needs it. So, here are my 6 tips for bloggers to leverage digital marketing. It is easy if you apply common sense and go for it with a proper strategy. In fact, it doesn't require you to pay to somebody else for it. If you just acquire some basic understanding, you can do it yourself. So, let us try to take a deep dive into the subject to understand it better. The Internet has been a revolution in everybody's life. In fact, technology gets a new meaning with it. Similarly, marketing has become easier and faster. Definitely, for businesses and entrepreneurs, it might become important to hire an agency or an expert.

The reason for that is businesses can't afford to lose their sales because of lack of their knowledge in the field. That is why they can even think of outsourcing their marketing to an agency. But bloggers can't do that. Contrarily, they also need to market their posts appropriately. So, here are a few tips for bloggers to leverage digital marketing.

#1. Manage Your Online Presence

Every blogger needs to know how your readers perceive your blog and posts. If you look at blogging arena, it is no less than an ocean. Every day new bloggers are born at an exponential rate. So, just imagine why someone would like to spend the time to read your 300/500/700/1500 words post. While your blog is obviously your home ground, but you also need to play on various social media platforms that are not basically your home ground. How do you make your presence on various social media platforms? What is the frequency? How do ensure every new post you write that is worth mentioning through various platforms reaches your followers well in time. Mind it that it is not only your followers that would get to know about your new post. There are people who keep a track on new posts on the basis of keywords or hashtags.

If you are a blogger do go through these tips for bloggers to leverage digital marketing. Understanding your niche is quite important. For instance, if you review products, do you post reviews on other review sites? Do you visit relevant forums and participate in topics of your interest? How is your post performing in Google Search? What more can you do to improve its rank?

#2. Your Time Is Your Marketing Budget

Now, since you are not spending money on outsourcing an expert, you have to invest something substantial at your end. That is your time. You need to spend the time to research well and understand well the crux of the matter. Otherwise, the benefit of these tips for bloggers to leverage digital marketing will not be that fruitful. At times, you might feel that you are in a tunnel with no end and light visible. But the situation will not remain same for long. You will become expert swimmer only if you practice on daily basis. Merely standing at the pool will not bring that expertise. Similarly, you need to have that urge to dive deeper to draw out more.

#3. Your Blog Post Sharing Is As Good As Your Marketing Campaign

When you share your new post on social media platforms does it fetch some interest? Do you get organic reshares, likes, and comments? If not, there is something wrong with your marketing strategy. Either your post is having juicy content or you have not been able to present it well on social media. Learn about the concept of relevant hashtags, keywords, and context to attract more people. Use some tools to find out which social media brings more traffic to your blog. What is the reason that another platform is not fetching that much response? Try to post in some engaging manner. It has to be a perfect mix of the right post with the right pitch.

#4. Gain Knowledge Of Marketing Trends

I covered it in the point above. I hope these tips for bloggers to leverage digital marketing will benefit you in some way.

#5. Test Your Posts

Keep an eye on your posts. Some posts will always do better than others. Definitely, there was something in those that could attract more visitors. Similarly, if comments are not something happening regularly on your posts, some posts attracting comments means there is a reason behind it. Try to analyze. Spend time on these posts to understand what was better that is lacking in other posts.

#6. Make Marketing Your Top Priority

Remember that your blog and posts are yours. If you are not convinced, you will never be able to convince anybody else. Spend time daily on this exercise. Take these tips for bloggers to leverage digital marketing as starting points. Once you are on the right track, you will find your own ways to excel further.

In the end, I would like to request something. When you find out some more ideas that work well for you, don't forget to come back and share them in the comment section so that others can get help and I will have some fresh tips for bloggers to leverage digital marketing. After all, it is all about your passion that needs some polishing so that others feel the glitter.

Top Digital Marketing Trends in 2019

We are almost on the corner of the year 2018. But, I am sure it's not late talking about next years' biggest digital marketing trends. Somewhere between a robust plan of action for Q1, 2019 and making digital marketing strategies, it's good to know about how the market will shape up in the year 2019.

Below are a few trends which will rule the digital marketing all over the globe.

Video Marketing

One of the most effective digital marketing techniques next year will be video marketing. According to a report, 80% of the online content will transform into a visual representation. It will give an overview of the product and services with a tint of entertainment and humor.

Since the adoption of smartphones and social media platforms video is preferred as one of the best ways of marketing a product. A short video not only communicate a message effectively, but it is also capable of giving your campaign an emotional environment.

AI - The Future of Machines

According to a report from Adobe, soon machines will be decisive enough to make strategic marketing decisions. Isn't it mesmerizing? Imagine all you have to do is to store all your data in a machine server and you will get suggestions for your marketing strategies. It's not over yet; these strategies will be in sync with your customer behavior patterns. AI will change the face of marketing immensely in the near future.

Automated Chatboxes

I am sure you must have encountered a chat box while surfing on the internet. Chat boxes are one of the most widely implemented applications of Artificial Intelligence. Not just they display results at a faster rate, also chat boxes are humorous and offer a personalized experience to the clients. Moreover, in a recent report from IBM, 85% of all the customer service interactions will be done by machines by the end of this year.

The fall of the Kingdom- Internet vs. TV

In this millennial generation, where a person spends more time using a phone or surfing internet television is merely a device to connect gaming modules. According to study, people will spend approximately 2.5 hours online and 2.7 hours spending their time on tube. This leads to a change in advertising pattern transforming from television channels to internet sites.

Writing Your Business Plan (Traditional or Online Business)

How To Write A Business Plan

In my previous article, I talked about how you can plan your business startup. I defined a business plan as a written description of the future of your business. This is a document that indicates what you intend to do and how you intend to do it. I further explained that if all you have is a paragraph on the back of an envelope describing your business strategy, you have written a plan, or at least the beginning of a plan. I also said that a business plan consists of a narrative and several financial worksheets.

I mentioned that the 'writing of a business plan' as one of the pivotal steps involved in setting up a successful business. By now you should understand the need for writing a business plan. Writing a business plan, for a traditional brick and mortar business, will probably take a lot of time. It may take up to 100 hours or even more. For obvious reasons, a new business needs to carry out a lot of research before a business plan can even be developed.

For an online business, a detailed and in depth business plan is usually not necessary unless you are trying to combine your online business with a traditional business. For most online business startups, the detail involved with planning a traditional business is not required. However, it would still be beneficial to you if most of the topics were still covered, even if only briefly. Having a written plan in front of you will help you to focus on important aspects of the business.

You may not have thought much about your competition or outsourcing some of your work, but things like that will impact your ability to make a profit. And you will find this especially so in the beginning phases of your business. Even you are just opening a lemonade stand in the front yard, you will still need to know what Susie is selling her lemonade for on the next street over!

So, although a detailed business plan may not be required for an online business, I am going to include it here so you can at least look at and consider each section and determine yourself if it applies to your business.

Here I shall be discussing the basic steps involved in writing a business plan:

1. Executive Summary: The first step involved in writing a business plan is the executive summary. Here, include everything that you would cover in a five minute interview.

Explain the fundamentals of the proposed business: What will your product be? Who will your customers be? Who are the owners? What do you think the future holds for your business and your industry?

Make it enthusiastic, professional, complete, and concise.

If you are applying for a loan, state clearly how much you need and be precise in how you are going to use it. Also include detail about how the money will make your business more profitable, thereby ensuring repayment of the loan.

2. Business Description: After the executive summary, you need to write a short description of the business you are going into. You need to give a general description of the industry your business belongs to. You will write about your company's mission statement, goals and objectives, business philosophy, as well as its legal form of ownership (sole proprietor, corporation, LLC, etc.).

Describe your most important company strengths and core competencies. What factors will make the company succeed? What do you think your major competitive strengths will be? What background, experience, skills, and strengths do you personally bring to this new venture?

3. Marketing Analysis/Strategy: The next thing to write (after the general description) should be your marketing strategy. For new or existing businesses, market analysis is an important basis for the marketing plan and will help justify the sales forecast. Existing businesses will rely heavily on past performance as an indicator of the future. New businesses have a greater challenge - they will rely more on market research using libraries, trade associations, government statistics, surveys, competitor observations, etc. In all cases, make sure your market analysis is relevant to establishing the viability of your new business and the reasonableness of the sales forecast.

4. Location: Writing down the location of your business is very important. Locations with greater customer traffic usually cost more to buy or rent, but they require less spending for advertising to attract customers. This is especially true of retail businesses where traffic count and accessibility are critical.

If an online business, you need to go into detail how you will attract customers to your website. General statements like "I will use Face Book ads and email marketing" will contribute almost nothing to helping your cause unless you have detailed statistical analysis of tests you have conducted or of another similar business you have been associated with. If you do not have any data upon which you reference your estimates, it could show lack of proper thought to the remainder of your business plan.

5. Competitive Analysis: Business by nature is competitive, and few businesses are completely new. If there are no competitors, be careful; there may be no market for your products. Expand your concept of competition. If you plan to open the first roller skating rink in town, your competition will include movie theaters, malls, bowling alleys, etc.

6. Management and Operations: Because management problems are the leading cause of business failures, it is important to discuss management qualifications and structure. Resumes of the Principals should be included in supporting data. If your business will have few employees and rely heavily on outside professionals, list these key people and their qualifications. If you are seeking financing, include personal financial statements for all of the principals in the supporting data section.

7. Personnel: The success of any company depends on their ability to recruit, train and retain quality employees. The amount of emphasis in your plan for this section will depend on the number and type of employees required.

8. Projected Financial Statements: These statements are usually helpful, but not necessary. You will develop and describe your strategies for the business throughout your Business Plan. In the financial section, you will need to estimate the financial impact of those strategies by developing projected Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.

It is usually recommended that these projected statements be on a monthly basis for at least the first twelve months or until the business is projected to be profitable and stable. Activity displayed beyond the monthly detail may be in summary form (such as quarterly or annually). The forecast period for most business plans is two to four years.

9. Summary Section: This section is where you will be able to attach or explain any detail not applicable to the previous sections. This section should be used to provide the financial statements of the Principle's involved in the business and any other data you think an investor would be interested in seeing.

The main thing to remember in this section is not to provide new data, but to explain in detail data that has already been provided and to provide the support for that data.

When you sit down to compile all of the elements of your business plan, make sure you have each section able to stand on its own merits. This means you should not reference other sections sending the reader (your potential investor) back and forth between sections.

Do not try to write your business plan in one sitting. As I mentioned in the beginning, for a traditional brick and mortar business, it could take in excess of 100 hours to compile all of the information needed into a comprehensive but yet understandable document. For online businesses, probably not that long. But your final product should be well thought out, well documented and easily understandable.

What Is Thin Content As Per Google and Why It Is Not Good for SEO?

"Content is the king" in SEO has always been emphasized ever since the technique has come into being and practice. Considering the same, it is easy to conclude that it is a far-fetched idea to conceive to gain better rankings of your business if you do not or cannot write quality, comprehensible and original content based on the keyword(s) that is/are relevant to your website. In this article, we are going to discuss why the need for a quality, original and relevant content is a must to drive a growing mass of target visitors/audience to your website and ensure improved visibility with a better sales lead. Also, the discussion will revolve around the formidable consequences of using thin or low-quality content with respect to SEO and what you can do about it.

So without beating about the bush, let us focus on what thin content exactly is. Thin content fundamentally is, low-quality or substandard content that is not helpful to users anyway. Google has sorted out a few exclusive web pages such as doorway pages, substandard affiliate pages, or standard pages that feature too little or no content, which are thin content pages according to this search engine. However, the caveat to bear in mind importantly and additionally is that efforts should not be made to create a mass of similar content: plagiarized pages or pages with duplicate content are also the cardinal part of thin content pages as well. Furthermore, Google does not give any significance to pages stuffed with keywords either. After all, this directs to the fact that the search engine has become smarter over time and is able to distinguish between high-quality and low-quality content, specifically since the release of Google Panda.

Google has the policy to provide its users with the most favorable and finest results that fit the search criteria of the user. So if you have a business and wish to fly it higher, you have to bring around Google that you give an answer to the question of the target users. Your visions for a website will maybe never turn into a reality if you are reluctant to write enormously on the theme you want it to rank for. Thin content is not the thing for Google when it comes to ensuring the most fruitful results. So the maximum focus should be on creating engaging, quality and informative copy, to make Google as well as your target users happy to their heart's content.

It is highly recommended to create comprehensible and elegant copy about the keywords that you guess would be instrumental in giving a rank to your website in Google. If you are interested in profiling your favorite hobby on your weblog, this is not a hassle for you. Right? If you profile something you have a penchant for and possess copious knowledge about it, then it is very simple for you to convince Google that your pages feature the expert answer they are searching for!

[Training] How To Make $1000 A Week Online..

For most people trying to make money online, $1000 a week usually ends up being the first goal.

And why not?

A $1000/week income is definitely enough to make a difference in most people’s lives.

And thanks to the digital world, it’s more possible than ever to get there!

It may take some time to reach that level, depending on how efficiently you work at it.

See, it’s not about how many hours you put into your business, it’s about what you do with those hours. Work smarter, not harder, that’s the key.

Here are three proven ways that you can get to that $1000 per week mark…

Affiliate Marketing

Instead of selling your own products, you can promote others’ products. Just be sure to “sell what sells”.

Pick products in “evergreen” niches. Those are niches that never go out of season or out of style.

Once you’ve decided on a niche, find its best-selling products on Clickbank and/or JVZoo.

Now, you’re basically going to want to promote those best-selling products via articles, Youtube videos and blog posts.

Your goal is to get as many clicks to your offers as possible. The more clicks you get, the more conversions you will get over time. Your goal is to get more efficient and more sophisticated in getting clicks as you go.

Email marketing

It’s still one of the best ways to make money online. You just have to do it right!

These days, it’s better to sync your email marketing efforts with social media and quality content.

Keep in mind that most consumers now read their emails on their smartphones or tablets. So be sure that your emails are cleanly readable on mobile devices!

Be prepared for the harsh realities about email marketing. Unsubscribe rates tend to be high, even if you’re providing quality content.

But if your unsubscribe rates are over 25% however, you’re probably doing something wrong.

Focus on providing value and quality content first, and making sales SECOND.

That should help keep click/open rates up, and unsubscribe rates down.

Content marketing

Good content brings quality leads, which then become sales. Creating good content, however, is a challenge. Not everyone is a natural-born writer or video producer.

Nonetheless, it’s important to produce quality content, especially in competitive niches.

If you can’t do it on your own, outsource as much as your budget will allow. It will only make you more money down the road.

If blogging or guest-posting, keep in mind that Google ranks content based on quality as well as backlinks. Focus on both elements when posting content to build authority, credibility, and trust.

Remember, it’s all about getting views. From there, you’ll get clicks to your offers or lead forms, where you can sell products or services to clients.

If you run a blog, you can also utilize advertising platforms such as Google Adsense to increase earnings. Always a good idea to build multiple revenue streams with your content.

Consider this: To earn over $1000 a week, you need to get your daily earnings over $142. On an 8-hour workday, 5 days a week, that’s about $25 per hour.

Reach that hourly rate, and boom - you’re earning $1000 a week. It’s all about setting goals, then meeting them!

Want to earn $50,000 or more in your first year? This resource is for you!

Hope you enjoyed this, now get to work! :)

10 Creative Strategies For Promoting Your Website

Do you have a website or blog you publish content to every day but still not able to get enough visitors?

Have you just created your very first blog and are keen to try out all the ways to promote it?

This article presents 10 smartest and most effective strategies you can use to promote your blog and instantly attract visitors who are genuinely interested in your niche.

1. Stop Tweaking / Modifying Your Blog

Are you spending too much time tweaking your blog to give it the right feel? Let me tell you, the overall design does not matter to your audience as much as your content does. Instead of tweaking your blog every now and then, focus on creating content that is fresh, engaging and informative for your readers and make them come back for more.

2. Creating Pillar Content

Producing quality content is one of the biggest challenges for bloggers because creating high-quality content on a regular basis isn't easy. Good content makes a powerful impact on your audience, which is why it is important that you take the time to create the high-quality pillar content that can solidify your blog's reputation. Pillar content refers to a series of posts that represents your blog's best content. It includes all the great posts that you will refer new visitors to for their usefulness.

Great content serves as a go-to source for good and informative message for your audience within your particular industry. Pillar posts provide major support to your blog and are considered a very important component or staple of your blog. When you start promoting your blog, pillar content will serve as your bait to attract more traffic.

Once you have set up your blog, the very first strategy you should implement is to create relevant posts and populate your blog with some really new, yet interactive information.

3. Don't Focus On Monetizing Your Blog Too Much

Many new bloggers create blogs to earn money. Although there is no harm in earning money, putting too many banner ads on your blog can become too distracting for your audience. If there are too many, they can make your blog look really ugly and they can actually take your visitors away from your blog. Do you still think this could be a great way to promote your blog? I bet you don't. In fact, you should focus on building your email list and a targeted pixel list. Both of them will help you get what you're desperately looking for, more visitors and more money by re-targeting your visitors through paid ads.

4. Research Your Niche and Find Out Who and What Matters

A very important step you should take before starting your blog is to thoroughly research your niche. You should need to spend know all the ins and outs of your niche and know who matters, for instance, who are the influencers, big players and small players contributing to the niche in their own capacities. You should make a list of all the competing sites, channels, podcasts, influencers, communities and groups that are working within your particular niche. It's very easy with SE Ranking competitor research.

By doing so, you will have a major reference file of all your competitors within your niche. You will be able to see what they are doing and talking about and also all the items they are putting for sale and products that are popular among your audience.

5. Reach Out To Your Audience

Once you have your blog nicely set up and great content to pull your audience in, start promoting your blog. Take out the detailed list of all the influencers, big players and small players you're made prior to starting your blog. Keep a close eye on the small players, because you need them for blog promotion. You can start by offering them testimonials, case studies or even a blog post they would be interested in publishing. It is important for you to start a one-on-one relationship with the big and small players. By contribute on other people's' sites through commenting and sharing their work on your blog, they will start to recognize you and connect with you.

6. Become An Expert In Your Niche

Whether your niche is SEO, Digital Marketing, Content Marketing or any other, you should not only attain extensive knowledge about your niche but also present it in an interactive and engaging way through your blog. Your future audience is waiting to read content that addresses them and their needs. It is the power of your writing and expert analysis that will help you attract your audience.

7. Post Comments

Commenting on blog posts and participating in various forums and social groups is often seen as a way to get backlinks. But if it's done right, no such issue will arise. Always post comments on blog posts only when you have something meaningful and informative to add. Make sure to use your own name to do it, and not your brand. Participate in niche groups and influential communities on social media. Present yourself as an authority in your niche and genuinely help people. Don't just drop links.

8. Create An Interactive Conversation Flow And Acknowledge Your Readers

When creating content, make sure it is engaging enough to get the audience talking. Your posts should pose questions from your audience and encourage them to respond or share their own similar experiences. Your audience can talk to you via blog comments or email, make sure to acknowledge them and reply to them. This will encourage facilitate interaction.

9. Monetize Your Site

When it comes to earning money from your blog, take a proactive approach, because it can bring organic traffic. When you offer a product or service on your site you can attract your target audience. By creating a profit funnel, you cannot only generate more leads but also generate a lot of revenue in the next few months.

10. Use Paid or Sponsored Media

Utilizing paid or sponsored media is a viable option and an effective strategy for blog promotion. It includes blog promotion through Facebook ads, Google ads, promoted tweets, YouTube pre-roll ads, and much more. These social networks can bring an incredible amount of traffic, as well as, hundreds of leads to your site.

When you follow the strategies discussed above for promoting your site you will not only be able to boost traffic to your site but also generate revenue from it. Remember, promoting a site or blog is not a difficult task. It just takes a little time and understanding of what works. Implement one strategy at a time and see the difference.

Using Social Bookmarking To Promote Start-Up Businesses

What Social Media Engagement Achieves For Business

Social media in essence is in relation to engagement through sharing, which for business means targeting your product range, your articles, or your services at engaging a potential customer or client base. Collectively, products, services and articles are known as content, and it is through offering quality content that success through your channels can be achieved. Social marketing has around 900 million users globally, and covers every topic range you can think of. As well as engaging a potential customer and client base or readership, social media is also relevant to search engine optimization.

Social media is a unique format as it helps you promote your content on to your audience, and in turn it generates traffic via people sharing your content with others, and through SEO. Perhaps more importantly than this, however, social media with its online reviews helps a business build trust, and nearly every brand you can think of uses social media for this reason. Think of this as: you come across two companies offering the same services; one has 250 Facebook likes, the other 43 - which one would you opt for? So regardless of whether you're an online retailer, an affiliate marketer, offer a service such as tuition, or run a news site, social media can assist you build your business online. Google estimates that by 2015, UK consumers will have purchased £40bn of products and services online.

Popular Social Media Sites And Their Uses

Getting to get grips with the nuances of social media's role in promoting your business can cause more than its fair share connected with headaches. Here is a list of the most popular social media sites and their uses:

Facebook is predominately for sharing. This can be products, articles, or services. In a nutshell, it's for sharing your content with as many people as possible.

Twitter is about sharing news on any subject. Don't let the word news make you feel it not apply for products. New product launches, new stock ready to be sold - Twitter is good for all of this.

Google+ is in part a combination of the two and has become important for search engine optimization if nothing else.

Blogging is a great way to impart news and expertise on your readership, customer and client base, or followers. It offers a good way to attract visitors on your site via search engines.

YouTube is about showcasing videos to a wide audience. It is being utilized by businesses all the time to sell products and services. As YouTube is owned by The search engines, videos tend to feature prominently on search engine results. You can also utilize the YouTube ads to make a secondary income stream.

Pinterest and other bookmarking sites are very good at showcasing visual products. If your business is selling something online, albeit a product or service, ensure you are posting on Pinter est and as many bookmarking sites you could find.
Social Media And Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Good positioning on search engines is about unique quality content that is well shared and well linked to from other websites. By sharing your content on social sites, the more chance there is of people liking it on Facebook, re tweeting with Twitter, or sharing the pin on Pinter est. Links are important for good SEO and posting your content on social sites provides a link from the social site to yours, and in every case this can be targeted to a specific web page. By web page I mean a specific solution, service, or article. This also ensures Google indexes the web page. That is to say, it adds it to its database, ensuring it can be found on search engines.

Finding The Best Social Media Sites For Your Business

To find the best social sites suited to your business, think as to what your business is trying to do. If your business sells products or services, then use social sites that showcase pictures and videos to sell the product. YouTube, Pinter est, Delicious and Instagram are all really good for showcasing products. If you're in the selling game, make videos of your products, take good professional photos and find them on these sites, and ensure you link the pictures and videos directly to the content on your site. If you sell on eBay or an affiliate seller, try to link directly to the product page where a potential customer can buy it. Also, put the products on your Facebook or my space page, Google+ page, and Twitter. For service providers, a slightly different spin on social media promotion is needed as, more often than not, a service provider will sit in the middle of visual social media, and text-based social sites. This also applies to affiliate marketers. If you can, represent your services that has a picture or icon, and publish the picture or icon on the visual sites. Use videos to showcase your services - if you can get testimonials from clients, well, that's gold dust. Publish regularly on your blog and tweet the articles, together with insights into the industry. This engagement will help build trust with all your existing clients, showcase your skills, and help you to be found by people wishing to become new clients.

Social Media Advertising

If you have the budget for it, Facebook offers advertising on a click-through basis like Google Ad Sense, or it can be used to earn likes. It is often in instances of experimentation. For affiliate marketing revenue streams, click-through will expose the user to your revenue stream, while a like will ensure every time an article or new product is published they'll be informed. It's trial and error and seems to work well for some businesses, but others have lost faith from it.

Saving Time

By now, you have probably guessed that updating social sites, especially if you publish a lot of daily content, is hard work. Larger businesses employ people to keep on top of it, something many start-up business don't have the budget or the time for. It is possible to help automate your social accounts updating using automatic syndication sites.

A Social Media Strategy

Step 1: Create a Facebook Page, Twitter account and Google+ Page For Business

These have their uses regardless of the type of business, and all help considerably with SEO. Ensure you create business pages on Facebook in addition to Google+. This keeps your personal details and indeed social media life hidden from your customers or clients, and it offers better options to promote a business.

Step 2: Identify Social Media Sites That Are The Most Important To Your Business

If your site sells products, make a list of all the online bookmarking and video sites you could find and create accounts. Ensure you use Pinter est and YouTube. If your business is for services, information, or is for an affiliate marketing revenue stream, you want to spread the word in as many ways as possible. Use blogging sites such as Tumble, Blogger and WordPress. org to syndicate your sites and services, and try to create news content if you provide services to show your expertise in your field.

Step 3: Use Social Media Tools Such As 'If This Then That'

'If this then that' or ifttt.com automatically updates your social accounts. This is easy to establish and works by syndicating the information across a host of social sites automatically as soon as one site is updated. This, as you can imagine, saves a lot of time. Be cautions, however, and ensure social sites suited to the business, such as bookmarking sites for online retailers, appear just as you want them to be found. Automatic syndication has limitations and often links and pictures do not appear as you would like them to. Nonetheless, and especially for syndicating blog posts via an RSS feed, it is a very good time-saver for promoting your business via social media. Not all social media can be syndicated in this way, but the sites that committer syndicates to are well worth creating accounts on to promote your business. The more social media sites you post on, the better.

Step 4: Use #hashtags

Whenever you post your content, ensure you use appropriate #hashtags. This will help users find your content when they search for it. So if I'm selling tyres on eBay, #tyres, #cartyres, #car, #treys is good, and for sports news, #sports news, #football #cricket, and so on is good.

Step 5: Once It Starts

Once your content starts hitting the web 2. 0 world, monitor your accounts for feedback. Concentrate on the sites you've identified as important to your business and respond to questions and comments. When responding, try to be helpful and non-abusive, even if the commentator is not pleasant. Professionalism goes along way.

Step 6: Participation

Twitter and Google+ show trending topics and these include popular subjects people are discussing. It is worth performing the odd Twitter search to see what people are talking about in relation to your business, and making a contribution to the discussion. This is a good way to make connections and hopefully achieve more success.

Step 7: Monitoring Success

Monitoring success has confirmed to be quite difficult for social media. Unlike SEO results, which can be measured on click-through and content engagement, it is not so simple on social sites for a variety of reasons. You may feel if you provide news that 10 comments on one story is a good sign of success, while 100 likes of a product video on YouTube with no obvious link to sales most likely are not immediately obvious as positive. It is worth remembering, however, that though people may not directly access your main site via social sites, it may prompt them to return later. Always keep in mind that social media is for sharing content, so any like, comment or re tweet is positive.

What Is An Online Sales Funnel?

What is a Funnel and How Do They Work?

When the word funnel is mentioned I usually visualize a car with the hood opened and an oil funnel in the picture. I'm not the only one, I know because a number of people have asked me to explain what a marketing funnel is. The subject gets many confused and a bit discouraged but it need not be so.

A marketing funnel is really very simple and some make it more complicated than it needs to be. Actually, the best and most successful funnels have only 3 steps and are very simple. The more steps that are added leave a better chance that the viewer will not finish the process designed to get them to a certain end result.

The end result, or goal, of the funnel, can be a number of things including a sale, an opt-in, a phone call, a sign-up, or lead. These are called conversions and are the end result of the funnel.

A website is a funnel even if someone doesn't understand just what a marketing funnel is. Someone sets up their site with the intentions of drawing traffic to their site for a specific purpose, let's say to purchase a product. They might see an advertisement ad on another site and click on it to get to the someone's site. The visitor reads some of the website content and clicks to go to the next step or to make a purchase.

That's typical of a sales funnel and sounds really simple, right? There are said to be over 2 billion viewers online and any website owner would love to get as much of that traffic coming to their site as possible.

Through various outreach campaigns on social media sites and forums, articles written, podcast, videos made, or a webinar, the site owner draws traffic into the funnel that travels through the website page and a percentage will click to proceed and the rest will move onto something else.

That is how simple a funnel is and as mentioned, the end result or goal can be to get an email address, get the visitor to click something, or to make a purchase, each is considered a conversion.

There are funnels that have more steps depending on what the design of the funnel is for the visitor but the fewer steps get better results.

How do they work?

Think of yourself as a tour guide leading visitors onto and through your website and leading them where you would like them to go and to do what you would like them to do. The site owner tries to direct them to click here or go there and see a great product that will enrich their lives in one way or another.

So website owners are like tour guides on their own websites and it's best that they understand drawing viewers into a funnel, their website, and being a tour guide leading them to the goal, or point of conversion with every page.

The Components and Tools Needed for a Funnel

The very first thing needed for a funnel is an idea. An idea could be for a video, a blog post, podcast, audiobook, a presentation, a free offer, or a webinar.

Another thing that's needed is a desired goal or end result, whether it be a sign-up, a sale or something else. Then figure out how to get the desired end results starting from the idea.

Figure out what you want your site visitors to do. What's the purpose of the site? Determine what your funnels end result is and then you can design the pathway toward the end result.

How To Generate Traffic Using MSN Ad Center

There are many different types of marketing you can do to get traffic to your website.

Pay-per-click (PPC) is well known to be one of the more successful techniques you can use to get immediate results. Most marketing methods require you to do a great deal of work before you start seeing traffic, however PPC is different.

Yes, it does cost money to get started, but it is one of the few methods that can give you traffic to your site on the same day that you start.

PPC is the process of paying for your ad to show up when people
search for a particular keyword. Your ad will show up in a separate area from the organic results,
but it will be prominently displayed. Every time someone clicks on your ad, you pay a fee. This is where the pay-per-click name comes from.

  • You will start out by creating an account within the MSN Ad Center.
  • The next step is to pick the keywords you want to start with - this step is crucial.

You have to decide how much you are willing to pay for each click to your site. There will probably be many keywords that you would like to use, but their cost is simply too high. Don't be tempted.

It's usually better to start out with keywords that are less expensive and then build your campaign up as you begin to have success.

The trick to succeeding with PPC marketing is to analyze your results. Some words may get a lot of clicks but no conversions - you should drop those. When you find words that are getting a lot of conversions, you should increase the budget on those words and find other similar words to start targeting.

PPC can be a great marketing method if you have the budget to get started and the willingness to analyze the results and adjust your campaigns.

How to Generate Traffic Through Press Releases

Any wise webmaster will learn how to generate traffic using press releases. The reason is press releases are among the best ways to increase your website traffic. Regardless if they never gain the interest of reporters, they can still be beneficial to your site.

Regrettably, most webmasters never use them . They feel nothing is newsworthy about their site or they don't know how to write a press release.

Press releases are easy to write.

You can think of something newsworthy if you try and write a terrific press release with these tips.

Headlines are vital.

They are what makes or breaks a press release.

If the headline doesn't attract attention, no one will read further no matter how wonderful the remainder of the press release is. If you have no ideas , make  a trip down to your local library or newsstand and take a look at the headlines.

Make certain the opening paragraph is interesting by referring to important events without mentioning the product.

Keep the body short and simple with a brief description of your product.

It is an advantage if you include quotes or testimonials from satisfied customers who bought your product or used your service.

Conclude the press release by summarizing benefits again and what services your website offers.

Remember you do not want to come across as an advertisement.

Though the concept is to promote your website, the copy should read like it was written by an unbiased third party. Put yourself in the place of a reporter who gives the who, what, when, and why behind the business.

Avoid product hype and just give facts.

Next, you will need a press release service.

Many of them are free over the internet like PRWeb.com. It is about the same as submitting article to an article directory.

Now you know how to generate traffic through press releases.
