I started learning about affiliate marketing several years ago. I had bought a digital product in the form of an eBook from eBay. It seemed like a good business model straight away since the sales were automated, and the product could be downloaded instantly. I looked to do the same thing and created a few of my own eBooks to sell online. However, I struggled for a number of reasons.
But the thought of an automated business system never went away. I continued to look into the idea and this led me to the business model of affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is a form of referral based marketing which rewards the affiliate for a sale made on someone else's website. Anyone can learn how to become an affiliate marketer. What drew me to affiliate marketing was the potential to work for myself from my laptop, without the need to actually handle products or even speak to any customers!
In the first instance, after I created an eBook myself, I couldn't get anyone to see my content. I figured people would just buy from a website once I had thrown it into the 'cyberspace' of the internet world. I suspect many people make this same incorrect assumption.
The truth was a little hard to bear after a number of failed attempts to promote digital products online. However, my first success came after selling a website building program I had used. I created a free blog from a site called hubpages.com. I wrote about the product and created a product review. This is a simple strategy which many affiliate marketers use to make money on the internet. It works if they can get their content seen by the right audience.
My first sale only made me $40 though but at the time it was huge for me. It was a breakthrough which spurred me on to keep going. For me, it wasn't just $40. It was the future of my earning potential and the ability to earn from the internet without a boss or a crummy job; something which I was desperate to escape having to do!
Nothing much happened after I made my initial sale. I went from one strategy to another and kept getting distracted by shiny objects which promised more money for less work! It wasn't until I discovered high ticket affiliate programs that thing really stepped up a gear for me.
Within a few months of joining a high ticket program, I was able to make two high ticket sales after advertising on Facebook. It was absolutely amazing and I thought I'd made it! I rested on my laurels though and because I didn't have a steady income at the time, I pulled the money out, not even thinking about continuing the marketing.
After that I spent all my time focused on content marketing for a while. Content marketing is a pretty slow strategy but I did get some results from it. It was much, much slower though than the paid marketing I had done previously.
Until I had gained some more confidence in what I was doing, I hadn't put more money into paid marketing strategies again. When I eventually did, I had another major success. High ticket programs can give you huge commissions, depending on how you position yourself in a business system. Products valued up to $20,000+ can earn you 40% commissions on a single sale.
I had a range of these products within my sales funnel but I didn't have the right mindset or knowledge to trust the journey I was on! I was too scared to spend money on advertising for quite some time. When this changed, so did my business - dramatically for the better.
The power of subscription products also suddenly came into my awareness. Although I had this sales funnel, I didn't understand it for a long time. It is 'geared' to pay you in multiple ways. Subscriptions are just one strategy which can pay you again and again for work done previously.
With subscription products, you sell something once, and it pays you an income - potentially for life. Even a small subscription commission month in month out, can be far better than the odd sale here and there of a much more valuable product. Over time, and as your number of memberships grows, your income grows too.
Multi-tier sales are another feature of the best high ticket affiliate programs. With multi-tier, you can earn commissions based on the sales of your referrals. This means that if you sell membership products of a certain business system, your members sales count as your own and you get a percentage of the commission.
Up-sells are another component of a good high ticket sales funnel. A good sales funnel will have a range of products which you can earn commissions on. You don't need to sell every product personally because an in-house sales team will do this for you. Simply refer people into your sales funnel and let the funnel do the work.
As an affiliate marketer, your main focus is on marketing. With the right business model, you can earn in multiple ways for having referred customers to useful products and services which will be of value to them.
My journey to find the high ticket affiliate programs was a long one filled with a lot of failures! I tried selling smaller valued products in a variety of different ways. I used organic content marketing strategies and paid strategies to market products. But it wasn't until I discovered the right business model that things changed for me.
With a good business model you can have more confidence in your marketing strategies. With the right training and mindset, you can accomplish a lot more in a shorter time period.
So, if you want to be an affiliate marketer, I would recommend looking at high ticket affiliate marketing. It is still a business and like any business it takes hard work and motivation to keep going and to make it work. But it takes the same amount of work to fail many times if you face in the wrong direction from the start!

Hmm, so a couple of years ago when I lived in the Atlanta metro area, I worked with children, adolescents and families that had children with a mental health diagnosis of some degree. The majority of the time I would meet and interact with them in the community, meaning, I would visit the kids at school or in their homes when their parents were present. I remember one particular young man that I had the pleasure of working with. And I remember one conversation that we had that is a very common conversation that I have with a lot of adults presently and they do not have a mental health diagnosis to my knowledge.
The young man and I were talking about some of the dreams that he had for his future; he told me that one of his goals or dreams were to become a professional basketball player and another dream was to be a professional dancer. Sounds like some pretty typical things a young man in high school would have right?
Well, here is the thing; these were truly heartfelt dreams and he was very serious about reaching and achieving his dreams. Our conversation quickly turned south when I asked him some reasonable questions. I asked him how many hours he spends playing basketball? "Not much" he said, okay. Then I asked him how much time does he spend working on his Free Throws? "I don't" he said, okay. Well, are you on the school's basketball team? "No, why would I do that" he said with a very puzzled expression on his face. Ookay!
He doesn't take dancing lessons or even watch YouTube to learn the latest dance moves; he told me that he just dances around the house all day. Now I know that I took some time to set up what I want to address but, I am sure that you can see where I might be headed.
Quit Dreaming about Your Dreams: It's Just a Fantasy
There are so many people that are having the same types of dreams and expectations that my young client had with me some years ago. For the record; his thought processes were not a result of his diagnosis. Many of my clients were given a diagnosis so the school system could remove them from the classroom because of some behavior issues or unfortunately, the guardian was attempting to get disability money from the government. Sad but true- but, that is a different blog post. Now, let's get back to you. The issue is not the dreams that he had and it is not necessarily your drams either. We all tend to have what would appear to be some pretty solid dreams and we are sincere in our desire to accomplish or reach our dreams.
But, just as my young client had dreams that he wanted to reach, he never spent any meaningful amount of time in the preparation of reaching the dreams that meant so much to him. There wasn't anything (no driving force) put in front of his desire to reach his dreams even though he wanted them so bad. No time playing basketball, no time practicing fundamentals, and no time developing the skills that he needed within a structured framework (school team).
Hate to burst some bubbles but, having a dream and making little to no effort or movement towards reaching those dreams besides just dreaming about them, well, it is just a fantasy. But, there is good news!
Quit Dreaming about Your Dreams: I Call it Sweat Equity
We tend to think that just the mere fact that we have a dream is all that it takes (this is all said in my excited fairytale voice). And as we continue to think about our little dream it will sense that we are dreaming about it. And as we dream about what it will look like when our dream comes true; it will begin to grow big and strong and one day, one day when we're not looking, it will "Blam!" appear and we'll dance holding hands and swing around in circles. Just you and your full grown dream spinning in circles in a field of lovely flowers and... nope!
There are some very practical things that we can do to ensure that we cultivate those gifts and talents that lay dormant inside of us. There are things that are required to take place in order for our dreams to become a reality. Take my client for example; if he had been spending hours on the basketball court honing his skills, perfecting whatever part of his game that was effective enough to give him an advantage over his peers and spent time practicing his free throws and jumpers. It would have afforded him an opportunity to make the school's basketball team and start the extremely difficult journey to the NBA. Sweat equity; plain and simple.
I'm not sure if any of you thought about this but, in my comical, slightly off-center and most of the time completely out in left field mind thought; most people don't read books about people who were born, grew up and went to school then to college. After college they got married, had a job and then died of old age. That is not a good read in my mind and I have already described what my mind looks like to you.
Quit Dreaming about Your Dreams: Is Your Life the Greatest Story Never Told?
When I ran my nonprofit for adjudicated youth, middle and high school students; I would often ask that question. I have made videos and written articles on that subject line. And I know that it's not my original thought or question but, the question still remains. Many of us will sit or live in quiet desperation and frustration because there are so many things inside of you that is fighting to get out and come to life but, we have no idea as to how do we get it out of us.
We are constantly searching to find out how we can be better versions of ourselves, we have become victims of life and all that it brings to the point that some of us have abandoned our dreams and settle for cheap knock offs! Working jobs that we hate and with coworkers that remind us constantly why we had the audacity to dream in the first place. We have fallen in line and we get on and off of the treadmill like hamsters. We try to fill those voids with fake imitations of what we are told is "The Good Life" but, in the back of our minds we know better.
So, is your life the greatest story never told? Are you the person that has the book that we've been waiting for, are the person that has the cure to the disease that is ravishing millions of people, are you the person that's referred to as "the modern Shakespeare"? What do you have inside of you that we so desperately need, what are you withholding from the world? I remember reading somewhere that says the richest place in the earth isn't the oil fields of the Middle East or the diamond mines of Africa. The richest place in the world is the local cemetery because it is full of people who died with all of the books, songs, inventions, medical breakthroughs, etc, who took those things with them to the grave!
So, is your life the greatest story never told? What are you doing to make your dreams come true? I believe that it is very difficult to make changes in our lives if we don't change the way that we think first. I mean, look at where you are now; what has changed about you since you started reading this awesome blog post?
Let's start with just formulating some sort of game plan on how and what we need to do in reaching our dreams. We can research Google for information, we can look into any education needed if applicable, and we can seek out a mentor to help us out along the way. We have to take serious inventory of who we are and who we want to be. As a Life Coach, I am constantly suggesting to my clients to identify what that really means to them. I am of the belief that we should be working towards becoming our authentic self-who we were created to be. The hardest part of your life becoming one of the greatest story lived out is; developing the ability to quiet all of the noise and chatter around you and focus!
Focus on the task at hand and ignore every voice that tells you that you will never make it. You have to become a human Salmon. You will have to train yourself to go against the flow, go upstream against the flow of "this is how everyone does it" and stay focused! If everyone could do it then it wouldn't appear so strange to other people who will never understand "why would you want to do that?" Are you strong enough to do that, are you willing to live a life that someone would want to read about? These are some things to think about as you hopefully begin your journey towards reaching your dreams. Quit dreaming about your dreams and begin to live a life that is the greatest story lived out.
Disappointment, discouragement and distractions can cause us to become stuck in life as we lose sight of our dreams and goals. For more information, please visit http://goo.gl/f3a7uz

If you are serious about wanting to fire your boss and learning the exact step-by-step system to building yourself a wildly profitable online business...
Many entrepreneurs make three crucial mistakes at the outset. They do not pay sufficient attention to customers' preferences; they ignore their competition because their product thrill them, and third, they neglect to follow their business strategy. Indeed, some have no strategy. Typically, they make these three errors because they succumb to the pressure to make a quick return on borrowed funds.
In the January 2014 issue of Harvard Business Review (HBR) Roger Martin identifies rules to prevent common mistakes when developing a strategy. He states in this article, The Big Lie of Strategic Planning, that the first rule is "keep the strategy statement simple." Instead of a long, often vague document, the company or entrepreneur's strategy should summarize the chosen target customers and the value proposition in one page.
Crafting the strategy needs time and thought, so the owner must be patient and learn to filter the many unsolicited voices telling her how she can make money quickly. I cannot state enough how crucial it is to develop a simple strategy for the startup. This simple strategy will be the guide to carrying out the owner's mission or purpose for doing business.
Harvard professor and author Michael Porter, says strategy must be unique. He goes on to mention that strategy:
by consensus is bad strategy
is not compromise; it's clarity
is about choices
needs a set of uniqueness to help to differentiate you from the competition
Porter then adds that less than 25% of companies have a clear strategy.
Strategy doesn't have to be embedded in many pages, it can and should be plain and simple.
In his 1985 book, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the late management guru Peter Drucker (1909-2005) said entrepreneurs create something new, something different and have unique characteristics. He said McDonald's exemplified entrepreneurship; "they didn't invent anything any decent American restaurant hadn't produced hamburgers for years." Drucker continued, McDonald's asked:
What is value to the customer?" Then they standardized the product, designed processes, and tools, drastically upgraded yields, and created a new market and a new customer.
Drucker said McDonald's carried out entrepreneurship. Whether the entrepreneur is an existing large institution, or an individual starting her business single-handedly, the same entrepreneurship's principles apply. "The rules are pretty much the same, the things that work and those that don't are pretty much the same, and so are the kinds of innovation and where to look for them."
The start-up owner often does not spend enough time finding out the value to the customer of her product or service. Neither does she spend adequate time developing and testing her strategy. Instead, she focuses on making a fast buck. That's why it's crucial the owner does the following:
Spends time understanding who are the customers
Identifies needs and wants, real and perceived, and target markets
Decides how to fulfill those needs consistently and at a high standard
Be patient and focus on the long-term. Research shows that family owned businesses are more successful than non family owned businesses because the former take a long view when making decisions.
Other things owners are doing wrong include:
Listening to too many people with divergent views about the business
Trying to "save" money by not getting needed resources to produce consistently high-quality goods and services
Not taking enough time to raise adequate funds in the "proper" form. Often, they take loans from family and friends without stating clearly risks involved and repayment terms.
Starting a business is risky but rewarding, and needs patience and courage. However, heeding the above advice will increase the probability of success significantly.

The digital economy is booming, and there's never been a better time to learn how to shift your income from trading time for money, to automating sales online to generate an income.
Many people simply aren't aware that this opportunity exists. Then there's the question of "how is this done?", and of course "can I do this?"
Some of the main resistances to change are mental in nature and overcoming scepticism is one of the main difficulties many face when presented with this idea.
It's far easier to shut down the possibility, than to have to make changes in your lifestyle and belief system in order to make it happen. But all belief systems and habits aside, how does anyone make a living on the internet, and over what timescale are we talking about?
A business model known as affiliate marketing lets anyone promote someone's product and earn a commission from it. You don't need to own a product yourself, talk to any customers or even handle any products. That's all done for you. All affiliates do is send website traffic to products and services they recommend.
Imagine you recommend a nice restaurant to a friend. Well, affiliate marketing is the same thing, only if your friend visits the restaurant and buys a meal, you'll receive a commission. The concept itself is fairly simple, it's the 'how' which is a little more tricky.
Putting that aside for a moment, just imagine how many people are on the internet looking for a particular product or service. There are millions! Just a small slice of those purchases is enough to get you out of a difficult working environment and working for yourself, from your laptop, from anywhere.
What's great about affiliate marketing is that you can compound your efforts over time. You can get adverts or content 'working for you' running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What's even better is the power of scalability. Once you've found a strategy which works, you can scale up to a global audience. With digital products, postage and storage isn't an issue. And you can earn up to 40% commission on digital products.
Let's back up a little and look again at the title of this article "How to set yourself free in the digital economy". What is freedom semantics aside, for many, it's the ability to create income without a boss, job or employer. It's the ability to earn money without feeling miserable or trapped.
Being free can mean many things. For the purposes of this article, it means being financially free and freedom to choose who you spend time with and how you spend your time. That's real freedom for many. It's often the opposite of working in a job you don't enjoy for the sake of financial gain, or, worse still, just to keep your head above the water.
But what does it take to build a life of freedom? Can you do it too? Not everyone can achieve this kind of freedom. The reason for most is a crippling belief system which keeps them chained to a 9 to 5 job, in a situation which doesn't serve them, because it meets some other needs. Security, ambition, status, duty or simply meeting your immediate needs are some reasons people don't venture out of what they believe is possible.
Of course an internet business can be built alongside a normal job too. That's one of it's most appealing benefits for many. But it's often someone's beliefs which stops them from even attempting to change their situation and circumstances.
So, an internet business is a means to set yourself free using the digital economy. By setting up small 'trickles' of income, by promoting and selling affiliate products, anyone can, over time, build an income which is completely independent of their time. Most people are trapped in the equation of trading their time for money. Affiliate marketing is a means to escape this trap and 'leverage' the internet to make sales, even while you sleep.
This doesn't happen overnight of course. It's a business like any other. However, an internet business can offer the ability to use automation and digital products to earn commissions. This has a two-fold benefit. Automation means your business can run without you. Digital products can be sold globally without needing postage or handling. Owners of affiliate products can afford therefore to pay affiliates more for the selling of these products.
Put all that together and you've got a huge robotic income machine - potentially. Once it's up and running, you simply need to 'tweak' it and scale it up. There's a lot involved in this process too. It's not easy and most people don't have a strong enough reason to make it happen.
But if your life is not working for you, you feel trapped or unfulfilled, an internet business can allow dramatic changes to happen in your life. Providing you work hard on your business, an on yourself.

Are you looking for some effective online marketing tips to make your business more profitable? If so, you are reading the right article. First, keep in mind that online marketing is a lot easier than conventional marketing. In this article, we have some easy web marketing tips for you. Read on.
1. Know your Target Customers
Knowing your target customers or clients and having a list of ways of targeting them are the two most important things. What you need to do is do deep research to find out about your target market. Alternatively, you can hire someone else to do the same for you.
Here is what you need to find out. The demographics, buying habits and the likes and dislikes of your customers. Once you have found these details, your next move is to find a way to target them.
2. Optimize your website for SEO
Today, most businessmen know that their website should be optimized for search engines, which is important for better search engine ranking. If you are new to SEO, you can easily learn the basics.
Basically, if you want to optimize your site for search engines, what you need to do is have the right tags, titles, keywords, meta descriptions, alt texts, and quality content. There are software tools that can help you with this.
3. Run Google AdWords (PPC) Campaigns
Google AdWords is another way of getting visitors for your site. This is a form of online advertisement that you can run by paying Google. Google will show your ads on relevant places on the Internet. Google AdWords is a faster way of getting a better search ranking.
For some relevant search terms, your website URL will appear on top of the page. So, chances are that visitors will click on your link instead of other links below.
4. Advertisement Congruence
If you run ad campaigns for your website, ad congruence is an important thing. Ad congruence is a situation when your business advertisement and the home page of your website look similar. In other words, both will have the same message.
If your landing page content is entirely different from the advertisement, your visitors will get confused and may click away. So, make sure you consider this point.
5. Write Quality Blog Posts on a Regular Basis
With a blog, you can improve your SEO drastically. Each blog post should be longer than 500 words and should include relevant keywords, which is important to trigger a positive response from major search engines. Moreover, high-quality content can help your customers as well.
6. Get Backlinks From Authority Sites
As far as SEO goes, backlinks play a great role. If you don't know, backlinks are the links to your site on another website. If you have a lot of backlinks, Google thinks your content is valuable and it gives your site a rank boost.
